XLS files
DOC (Word document) is a file format used for word processing documents. Created by Word, DOC files can contain text, images, formatting, and other elements. They are commonly used for creating and editing textual documents, reports, and letters.
XLS ( Excel spreadsheet) is an older file format used for storing spreadsheet data. Although largely replaced by XLSX, XLS files can still be opened and edited in Excel. They contain tabular data with formulas, charts, and formatting.
